HeyExpiry / SSL certificate expiration checker
Free SSL certificate expiration checker
Enter a website to see the date its SSL certificate expires, who issued it and whether browsers trust it. The same check also shows when the domain registration runs out.
Free, no account needed.
What the checker shows
- The date the SSL certificate expires and how many days are left.
- The date it was issued and the certificate authority that issued it.
- Whether browsers trust the certificate, so an untrusted certificate is never shown as OK.
- The domain registration expiration date and registrar, when the registry publishes it.
How to read the result
A certificate with plenty of days left is fine today, but it can still fail to renew on time. If the date is within 30 days, check that automatic renewal is working. If the certificate is not trusted or already expired, visitors see a browser warning until it is replaced.
Common questions
How do I check when an SSL certificate expires?
Type the website address into the checker above. It connects to the site, reads the live certificate and shows the expiration date and the days remaining.
How long is an SSL certificate valid?
It depends on the certificate authority and the certificate type. Lifetimes across the industry have been getting shorter, so renewals happen more often. The checker shows the exact dates for the certificate a site is using right now.
Can I get a warning before a certificate expires?
Yes. Add the site to HeyExpiry and it emails you at 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before the certificate expires. It is free for up to 10 domains.
